Frequently Asked Questions

"What is Feng Shui?"
Feng Shui means ‘wind and water’ and is about creating the ideal environment in which to live and bring balance to our lives.

"How do I choose a Feng Shui consultant?"
A Feng Shui consultant is someone who specialises in using the ancient art of Feng Shui to bring harmony to a space. It is important to check out the credentials of your potential consultant. Ask about his or her background and the type of Feng Shui they use as there are many schools of Feng Shui. It is also important to ensure they are registered with the Feng Shui Society as this ensures they are accredited and practise continuous personal development of the subject of Feng Shui. You must also feel comfortable speaking to the consultant you choose as you may need to discuss personal matters and be open about your life goals.

"Can I just have my home checked for Geopathic Stress and Electromagnetic Fields?"
Yes - a Healthy Home Survey which is separate to a full Feng Shui consultation can be offered. A check on Electromagnetic Fields and Geopathic Stress including Space Clearing if necessary will alleviate any problems and produce a healthier environment.

"How long will a Feng Shui consultation take?"
A consultation takes approximately 3-4 hours on site varying on the type of consultation. There will be an additional 6 hours off site to complete the consultation, make calculations and type the report. A Healthy Home consultation or a House Sale/New Home Check will take approximately 2 hours. Additional time is required for Space Clearing.

"Will Feng Shui make a difference to my life?"
By changing the energies within your home Feng Shui can certainly produce a healthier environment in which to live. Feng Shui can also identify what is going on in your life and the adjustments that can be made so that you are in the best position to take on the challenges that come your way.

"What is the ba gua and how do I use it?"
The ba gua (ba: eight; gua: area) is a map of the energetic qualities of your space. It is traditionally shown as an octagon with eight sections surrounding a central area, the tai chi.

The ba gua divides any space into these nine areas. Each area corresponds to a different aspect of your life. Whatever is going on energetically - good or bad - in that part of your space will affect the related aspect of your life.

Every space has a ba gua. There is a ba gua for your plot of land, a ba gua for your home and a ba gua for each room within your home. You can even apply the ba gua to your desk, bed, or stove.
